Brookstone survives Metter 9-4 thanks to Kennedy's late-game heroics

Tim Kennedy drove in the winning run to give Brookstone the lead in the sixth inning, as Brookstone hung on to beat Metter 9-4 on Friday.
After Matt Jones doubled, Kennedy doubled, scoring Jones.
Kennedy led Brookstone's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Metter had no answer for Parker James, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Metter managed just one hit off of the Brookstone's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his 2 2/3 innings of work.
The top of the second saw Brookstone take an early lead, 1-0.Brookstone got things going when Austin Pair singled. A stolen base then moved Pair from first to second. Keith Pridgen singled, bringing home Pair.
Metter answered Brookstone's top inning with one run of its own in the third. Metter scored on an RBI single by Tucker.
Metter quickly matched Brookstone's strong inning with a three-run inning of its own in the fifth. Metter scored on a two-run double byMcManus and a hit by pitch.
