6-5 Win over Marion County


Brookstone Varsity Cougars's Kennedy comes through in the clutch, upends Marion County, 6-5

Kennedy brought home the winning run to give Brookstone Varsity Cougars the lead in the sixth inning, as Brookstone Varsity Cougars hung on to beat Marion County 6-5 on Friday.
After Drew Webb singled, Kennedy doubled, scoring Webb and Guy Peek.
Webb paced Brookstone Varsity Cougars at the plate. Webb went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Jordan Waddell got the win for Brookstone Varsity Cougars despite allowing five runs over six innings. Waddell struck out one, walked none and gave up eight hits.
In the top of the third, Marion County grabbed the early lead, 3-0. Marion County's threat began with a double by Dustin E. A groundout by CJ D then moved E from second to third. Marion County then tacked on more runs when M scored on a groundout by Jaryd H and B scored on an RBI single by Brandon D.
Marion County matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the sixth. In the fourth, Marion County scored on a sacrifice fly by Austin M, bringing home Trent M.
The lead was Brookstone Varsity Cougars' to lose after sixth inning. More runs came home on an RBI single by Webb.
