Brookstone 11 vs Pacelli 6

Brookstone Cougars Varsity takes early lead in 11-6 win over Pacelli

Brookstone Cougars Varsity's three first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home an 11-6 win over Pacelli on Friday. 
Brookstone Cougars Varsity scored in the first on an RBI double by Drew Webb, an RBI single by Guy Peek, and an RBI single by Jarrod Little
Webb racked up three RBIs on two hits for Brookstone Cougars Varsity. 
Mudge took the loss for Pacelli. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out two. 
Brookstone Cougars Varsity scored two runs in each of the second, third and fifth. In the second, Brookstone Cougars Varsity scored on an RBI single by Webb, plating Eliot Turner
Two runs in the bottom of the third helped Pacelli close its deficit to 7-2. An RBI single by Welch and a sacrifice fly by P. Miller set off Pacelli rally. Parker James ended the inning by getting Mudge to strike out. 
After posting one run in the fourth, Brookstone Cougars Varsity again scored one in the sixth. In the fourth, Brookstone Cougars Varsity scored on a groundout by Bryce Koon, bringing home Peek. 
Brookstone Cougars Varsity increased its lead with two runs in the fifth. A hit into a fielder's choice scored Turner to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up with a steal of home by Matt Jones
Pacelli scored one run in the bottom of the sixth to cut its deficit to eight. A walk by Crawford sparked Pacelli's rally. Seguin to end the Pacelli threat. 
A three-run seventh inning helped bring Pacelli within five. A groundout by Mudge, a groundout by A. Hughes, and an error gave Pacelli life. But, Jones got Seguin to fly out to end the game.
