Brookstone Cougars Varsity drops high-scoring affair to Providence Christian Academy, 10-8

Brookstone Cougars Varsity fell 10-8 to Providence Christian Academy in seven innings on Saturday despite racking up 12 hits and eight runs.
Andrew Hamric did his best to prevent defeat.
Andrew racked up three RBIs on three hits for Brookstone Cougars Varsity. He singled in the fourth and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.
Andrew had an impressive outing against Providence Christian Academy's lineup. Andrew held Providence Christian Academy hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.
Whitlock got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out nine, walked none and surrendered five hits.
Providence Christian Academy was sparked by Spratlin and Whitlock, who teamed up for four hits and six RBIs.
Parker James couldn't get it done on the hill for Brookstone Cougars Varsity, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two innings, walked one and struck out one.
The top of the first saw Brookstone Cougars Varsity take an early lead, 2-0.Keith Pridgen singled to ignite Brookstone Cougars Varsity's offense. A passed ball then moved Keith from first to second. The scoreboard lit up again for Brookstone Cougars Varsity when Webb scored on an error.
Providence Christian Academy went up for good in the first, scoring five runs on an RBI double by Whitlock, an error, and two singles.
Providence Christian Academy pushed across one run in both the second inning and the sixth. In the second, Providence Christian Academy scored on an RBI single by Baldwin, scoring Spratlin.
Providence Christian Academy tacked on another three runs in the third. Brown started the inning with a single, plating Mattix.
Three runs in the top of the fifth helped Brookstone Cougars Varsity close its deficit to 9-5. A two-run double by Hunter Green and an RBI single by Andrew gave Brookstone Cougars Varsity life. Guy Peek struck out to end the Brookstone Cougars Varsity threat.
After pushing across one run in the top of the sixth, Brookstone Cougars Varsity faced just a 9-6 deficit. An RBI double by Matt Jones fueled Brookstone Cougars Varsity's comeback. Providence Christian Academy stopped the rally after Winskie got Keith to ground out.
After pushing across two runs in the top of the seventh, Brookstone Cougars Varsity faced just a 10-8 deficit. A two-run home run by Andrew triggered Brookstone Cougars Varsity's comeback. The game went final when Parker struck out.
