Brookstone musters 4 hits, drops 11-2 contest to Schley County
Despite four hits, Brookstone lost 11-2 to Schley County on Wednesday.
Andrew Hamric racked up two RBIs on one hit for Brookstone . He homered in the sixth inning.
Schley County had no answer for Guy Peek, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Schley County managed just four hits off of Peek, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out one during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Usry recorded the win for Schley County. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out seven, walked one and surrendered four hits.
Schley County's Leeder, Usry, Patrick and Barry combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
Culver Norred ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out one.
The lead stayed with Schley County after the first, when it scored two runs on a single by Patrick.
Schley County piled on three more runs in the bottom of the second. Josh Hutchens's single got things going, plating Howell and Barry.
Two runs in the top of the sixth helped Brookstone close its deficit to 9-2. A two-run home run by Hamric sparked Brookstone 's rally. Finally, Usry induced an inning-ending strike out from Jarrod Little.
