  • Brookstone and Marion County exchanged the lead five times on Tuesday, but Brookstone ended up on top with a 9-5 win in eight innings over Marion County.
  • Brookstone took the lead in the eighth inning and held on for the victory. A passed ball scored Walker Cottrell to give Brookstone the lead for good.
  • Sam Lowe racked up two RBIs on three hits for Brookstone.
  • Culver Norred was a workhorse on the mound while bagging the win for Brookstone. Norred pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and three walks while striking out two.
  • Matt Reddoch took the loss for Marion County. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
  • The top of the first saw Brookstone take an early lead, 3-0. Brookstone got things going when James Sherrer singled. A stolen base then moved Sherrer from first to second. Brookstone added more runs when Campbell scored when Coleman Killorin was hit by a pitch and Dismuke scored on a passed ball.
  • Marion County pushed across one run in both the third inning and the sixth. In the third, Marion County scored on an RBI single by Bryan Cobb, plating Matt Dennis.
  • After posting one run in the fourth, Brookstone again scored one in the seventh. In the fourth, Brookstone scored on an RBI single by Sam Lowe, scoring Cottrell.
  • Marion County answered Brookstone's top inning with three runs of its own in the fourth. Marion County scored on an error, an RBI single by Matt Dennis, and an RBI single by Cobb.
