Brookstone 4 falls to Schley County 9

  • Drew Webb's Effort Not Enough To Carry Brookstone Past Schley County, 9-4
  • Drew Webb held up his end of the bargain, but Webb couldn't guide Brookstone past Schley County as Brookstone lost 9-4 in eight innings on Friday.
  • Webb looked sharp on the bump. Webb held Schley County hitless over one-third of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.
  • Home runs for Schley County came when Reid Ragsdale homered in the seventh inning and Will Barry homered in the fifth and seventh innings.
  • Schley County's Michael LeederChase Patrick, Barry and Ragsdale combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.
  • Brookstone jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Brookstone got things going when Webb singled. A stolen base then moved Webb from first to second.
  • Schley County never trailed after scoring four runs in the third on a two-run double by Patrick and a two-run single by Blake Howell.
  • After posting one run in the fourth, Schley County again scored one in the fifth. In the fourth, Schley County scored on a sacrifice fly by Leeder, plating Josh Hutchens.
  • After pushing across three runs in the bottom of the fourth, Brookstone faced just a 5-4 deficit. An RBI single by James Sherrer and a two-run error triggered Brookstone's comeback. Schley County stopped the rally after Leeder got Walker Cottrell to strike out.
  • Schley County tacked on another three runs in the seventh. The inning looked promising, as Barry homered, bringing home Patrick to kick things off. That was followed up by Ragsdale's solo blast.
